Monmouth and Ocean County Independence Day celebrations



FREEHOLD: Freehold Raceway, concert at 5:30 p.m. featuring Rock & Roll Chorus and Turnstyles. Fireworks at dusk.

HAZLET: 6 p.m., Veterans Memorial Park, 1776 Union Ave. Festivities will begin with DJ Jeremy; food vendors will be on hand and the Recreation Department will sell glow necklaces. Fireworks will be presented by Zambelli. Rain date is Friday.

KEANSBURG: Keansburg Amusement Pier, fireworks at dusk.


ASBURY PARK: dusk, Asbury Park Convention Hall, 1300 Ocean Ave. Presented by Madison Marquette and Asbury Partners, fireworks will be launched from the beach south of Convention Hall.

LONG BRANCH: 10 a.m., Oceanfront Promenade between Seven Presidents Park and the Ocean Place Resort and Spa. All-day entertainment with clowns, stilt walkers and costumed characters. Music and sand sculpture on the beach. Fireworks over the ocean at 9 p.m.

OCEAN GROVE: 10:30 a.m., Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, 54 Pitman Ave. Festivities will start with a parade proceeding on Whitefield and Ocean Avenues and ending at Embry Avenue. At 7:30 p.m., and Independence Day concert, “Storms & Thunder, Stripes & Pipes,” will feature Gordon Turk and Michael Stairs on the 10,000-pipe Great Auditorium organ.


ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS: Fireworks at 9:30 p.m., Municipal Harbor Gazebo, 2 Simon Lake Dr.


MARLBORO: 6:30 p.m., Marlboro Community Center Amphitheater, Wyncrest Road. The Bell Bottom Blues, an Eric Clapton Tribute Band, and the B Street Band followed by a fireworks display about 9:15 p.m.



LACEY: Dusk, Lacey Township High School, 73 Haines St., Lanoka Harbor. Fireworks. Rain date Thursday.

LAKEWOOD: 5 p.m., Lake Carasaljo, Route 9 at Route 88. Fireworks display at dusk over the lake.


BARNEGAT: 7 p.m., Municipal Dock, 427 E. Bay Ave. Independence Day celebration and concert with fireworks at dusk.

BEACH HAVEN: 9 p.m.,  Taylor Avenue, Beach Haven. Fireworks over the bay.

BEACHWOOD: 6 p.m., Bayside Avenue, Beachwood, Organization Fund Raiser – beachfront, food and beverages. 8:45 p.m. (dusk) Pyrotechnical Display Beachwood Beach Front – Bayside Avenue.

LAKEHURST: 11 a.m.,  Union Avenue. Parade starting with a car show. Fireworks at dusk at Lake Horicon.

MANTOLOKING: noon,  Downer Avenue. Parade.

OCEAN GATE: 10 a.m.,  Ocean Gate Avenue. Parade beginning at 10 a.m. on Ocean Gate Avenue ending at Wildwood Avenue; games and entertainment for children.

PINE BEACH: 9 a.m.,  Pine Beach Fire Company, 525 Prospect Ave. Parade and field games to celebrate Independence Day. The parade starts at 9 a.m. in front of the firehouse, Prospect Avenue, and ends at Vista Park. Foot races, ladies balloon blowing, men’s tug of war and sack races.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH: Dusk, Jenkinsons Boardwalk, 300 Ocean Ave. Fireworks.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS: 9:30 p.m.,  Seaside Boardwalk, 800 Ocean Terrace, Seaside Heights. Firework display on the oceanfront, viewable from the boardwalk.

SEASIDE PARK: 9:30 a.m.,  Fifth Avenue Pier. Bike parade starting at the Fifth Avenue pier and ending at the 14th Avenue pier.

TUCKERTON: 10 a.m.,  Route 9. Parade beginning at 10 a.m. at Route 9 and ends at the Seaport. Activities beginning at 4 p.m. include a baby parade and children’s activities. Music 1 to 8 p.m. Fireworks display at Tip Seaman County Park at dusk


BRICK: 7 p.m.,  Windward Beach, Challenger Way. Summerfest concert, “Separate Ways, Ultimate Journey Show.” Fireworks after show, about 9 to 9:30 p.m.



JOINT BASE McGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST: The public is invited to a free Independence Day celebration from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Doughboy Field. A variety of entertainments are planned including a concert. Fireworks around 9:30 p.m. No coolers or bottles allowed; there will be a wide variety of food and beverage available from vendors. The Wrightstown, Browns Mills, Pemberton and Route 68 gates open at 5 p.m. Department of Defense cardholders are encouraged to use the McGuire Main Gate. More information at
